A message from Ian Heard, Chairman of West Hill Village Hall Committee
Treasurer vacancy at the Village Hall
The position of Treasurer on the Village Hall Committee becomes vacant from 1 September, and we look forward to welcoming a new member to our team for this voluntary role. When all our users return from lockdown in the autumn, we will be back to managing a vibrant hall with its wide range of users from Pre school and Primary school to over 20 clubs and societies enjoying their leisure activities.
Key responsibilities include overseeing financial aspects of the charity, on behalf of the trustees, to ensure its ongoing financial viability. The Village Hall Committee meets every two months and will receive an update on the hall’s finances at each meeting.
Our present Treasurer, Rob George, has implemented the SageOne feature rich online accounting package which saves time, providing accurate reporting and strong controls. The package supports auto reconciliation with our bank account and any cheque payments can be scanned in from home so no more visits to the bank required! Regular payments such as direct debits and standing orders are automatically entered.
The Treasurer works closely with our Bookings Secretary, who raises all invoices through SAGE, which are then emailed to our customers. Both parties have access to SAGE in real time, so allowing for easy identification of receipts, payment history, aged debtors etc. Our accountants also have full online enquiry access.
If you are familiar with financial accounts and would be interested in finding out more about this role, please contact our Chairman, Ian Heard by email heard555@outlook.com or phone him on 01404 814191. Our retiring treasurer will then provide full guidance on our accounting system.
