Jubilee tree planted

On Monday 21st March a tree was planted on the green at Courtfield Close to celebrate The Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

The tree - a Quercus Robur, or Oak - was gifted to West Hill by East Devon District Council (EDDC) and is one of 70 oak saplings gifted to each East Devon Town or Parish community. In a letter to West Hill Parish Council, Councillor Ian Thomas, Chair of EDDC, said:

The resultant special network across the district of commemorative oak trees, renowned for their longevity, strength, and unique position in the national landscape, will offer many other collective opportunities and serve as an important local ‘memory jogger’ recognising our Carbon Neutral and environment priorities.
