West Hill - Application for a new Neighbourhood Area
West Hill Parish Council (WHPC) has begun the process to prepare a Neighbourhood Plan for the parish. The first formal step in this process is the designation of a Neighbourhood Area.
West Hill Parish Council has applied to East Devon District Council (EDDC) for the whole of the parish to be designated as a new Neighbourhood Area. The public consultation on the application has now ended. Full details of the application, are available on the EDDC website.
EDDC Decision
The designation of the whole of West Hill Parish as a new Neighbourhood Area was agreed by EDDC Cabinet on 29th November 2023. Simultaneous with the decision to designate this new Neighbourhood Area, Cabinet agreed to modify the existing Ottery St Mary Neighbourhood Area to remove West Hill parish from this area and align the boundary to the Ottery St Mary parish. This was necessary as Designated Areas cannot overlap.
