Latest on the new path to the Village Hall

Joint statement from the Parish Council and Village Hall Trustees

On 19th January 2022 East Devon District Council (EDDC) published their decision on the WHPC planning application 21/2207/FUL for a new pedestrian access path to West Hill Village Hall from West Hill Road. The application was approved subject to conditions.
The Parish Council and Village Hall Trustees are keen to proceed and our joint working group have already met to outline the next stage of the project.
It’s unlikely that work on site will begin soon as the project group are mindful of the planning conditions that requires us to work with various third parties such as

  • South West Water to locate a water main and understand their requirements.
  • Devon Highways to obtain a Traffic Regulation Order for the proposed "School - Keep Clear" road markings

The timetable for the construction work will also be shaped by constraints such as the removal of a section of the boundary hedge which must be done outside the nesting season.

During 2022, we’ll keep residents informed of our progress via the WHPC website and The Messenger.
