2023 Remembrance Events in West Hill
ARMISTICE DAY, Saturday 11th November 2023
Armistice Day is marked around the United Kingdom with a two-minute silence at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month.
In West Hill, the two-minute silence will be led by members of the Royal British Legion at the War Memorial. All are welcome to attend and observe the silence. You are asked to arrive by 10.50am. Please take care as no roads will be closed.
REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY, 12th November 2023
Remembrance Sunday is held on the second Sunday in November to commemorate military and civilian servicemen and women in the two World Wars and later conflicts.
In West Hill on Remembrance Sunday the Royal British Legion will lead:
- 10.15am at the War Memorial, West Hill Road: Short service and wreath laying
- 10.45am at St Michael's Church: Remembrance service
All are welcome to attend these events.
To facilitate the Remembrance Sunday event, temporary road closures will be in place on School Lane and West Hill Road (Elsdon Lane to Bendarroch Road junctions). Diversions will be in place. Click here to view the Highways Authority on-site notice and map.
