Neighbourhood Plan for the parishes of Ottery St Mary and West Hill
The Neighbourhood Plan for the parishes of Ottery St Mary and West Hill is finally near completion after more than two years' work by the steering group and with input from the public. The independent examiner has finished her report, which can be viewed here. Her response has been very positive.
The Plan has been amended to incorporate the examiner's comments and has been submitted to East Devon District Council so that it can go before Cabinet on 2nd May and from that moment on will start to hold some "weight" in planning terms. The latest version of the Plan can be viewed here.
About six weeks after that it will go to public referendum. This will be one day's voting by the public. Residents will receive a polling card and instructions from East Devon District Council nearer the time.
Once it has passed referendum, the Plan will hold full "weight" and give the parishes of Ottery St Mary and West Hill a lot more protection from unwanted overdevelopment.
With this time line, the Neighbourhood Plan should be published and in place by late June/early July.
