The Restart Grant scheme for non-essential retail, hospitality, accommodation, leisure, personal care and gym businesses in East Devon is now open.
The amount of grant funding businesses will receive is based on business sector and the current rateable value (RV) of premises. Businesses should check the eligibility criteria before applying.

Check if your business is eligible for a Local Restrictions Support Grant and Closed Lockdown Business Payment which close on 31st May 2021. If not your business may be able to apply for an Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG) if you can evidence a significant loss of turnover due to the national restrictions as well as fixed business costs (rent, rates, insurance etc.) of at least £250 per month. The ARG scheme was extended to allow more businesses to apply. It is expected to close on the 23rd April so check the guidance to find out if your business is eligible and apply as soon as possible.

Stay Local Shop Safe
Many businesses, shops and services were able to open from 12 April. To encourage residents to shop safely locally to support local businesses and protect jobs, East Devon District Council is delivering a #StayLocalShopSafe media campaign. Launch of Recovery Loan Scheme
A new government-backed loan scheme has launched, to provide additional finance to those businesses that need it. Businesses such as coffee shops, restaurants, hairdressers and gyms can access loans varying in size from £25,000, up to a maximum of £10 million. Invoice and asset finance is available from £1,000. The scheme runs until 31 December 2021 and will be administered by the British Business Bank.
