West Hill Celebrates the Coronation of King Charles III
On Friday 5th May, events began with the West Hill Pre-school Coronation picnic. The children had great fun making and wearing their crowns (and expecting the King to arrive!)
Meanwhile preparations were completed for the official opening of the Storytelling Throne and bench installed by the Parish Council to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III. The playpark was very colourful with bunting and balloons fluttering the breeze. Thankfully the rain stayed away.
At 2.30pm children, parents and staff from the Pre-school and Primary School joined Councillors for a short ceremony to unveil the throne. Special guest local author read several short stories to the children (who were still wearing their crowns).
A BBC Spotlight team joined in the fun and filmed an item for their evening broadcast.
Still to come.....
